Marwayne, Alberta – the Franklin family

Posted By Jennifer on August 31, 2010

On Sunday I headed out to the back country near Marwayne, Alberta to take some photos of one of my favorite families – my co-host of Weddings on the Border, Kaylie, her husband Brendan, and their two adorable children.

I love sessions like these – 4×4ing around the countryside, random locations, old vehicles … totally my thing!

Correna, Steve & Ezra

Posted By Jennifer on August 31, 2010

This gorgeous family came out to the farm on Saturday for some family photos. Baby Ezra turned one year old the day before, and he brought his parents along for his birthday photo session. I last saw Ezra around Halloween – and he’s all grown up now! And soooo cute!

They looked great on my new old truck!

Many dads have reservations about letting go in front of the camera. Luckily, Steve is not one of them! He put on a clinic of how to rock your daddy/son photos.

Cold Lake, Alberta – Chuck & Marlie’s wedding!

Posted By Jennifer on August 25, 2010

Saturday, August 21 was a beautiful day to get married in Cold Lake! It was sunny, but with enough of a breeze that no one overheated. The smoky haze that had been hovering over the entire region last week cleared enough that it didn’t effect the photos.

Chuck and Marlie booked me WAAAAYYYYY back in 2008; they were supposed to get married last year, but postponed the wedding to 2010. It seemed to work out perfectly anyway! The couple married in her parents’ backyard, which backs right onto the beach and Cold Lake itself. Absolutely gorgeous! Marlie was so beautiful in her ivory gown, and Chuck was handsome and beach-wedding-ready in his white shirt and khakis.

A few quick shots just before the ceremony started …

Then we headed out to the M.D. Park for some more photos …

Random stuff ….

Posted By Jennifer on August 20, 2010

Random studio bits …

These are some awesome fabrics I got off eBay for the area I’ve so classily named “the naked girl section” – the dressing room and boudoir room.

And these are some more awesome eBay finds, fun fabrics for the meeting room!

This is the wallpaper that will go on the feature wall in the boudoir room. Awesome, yes? Yes.

And this is one of our “baby” foxes. Each year, a pair of foxes takes up residence in our yard, under an old building. This year, they had four kits – two black and two red. Very cool! They’re all grown up now and they delight in running around tormenting the dogs. This is a shot I grabbed of one of the blacks the other day, when I was actually out shooting a car … anyway, these so-called silver foxes are actually quite rare. You can find out more about them here.
