June 29, 2008 - Marla & Mike's wedding

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Mike & Marla's wedding yesterday in Lloydminster. Everything went so smoothly, the day just flew by!

My second shooter for the day was Lisa MacDonald of Shutter Magik in Elk Point, Alberta. We started our day at Mike & Marla's acreage outside of Lloydminster in their stunning 1920's farm house. I LOVED their house - I want to move in!

We had so much fun hanging out with the girls and Marla's family in the morning and watching their transformations.

Marla's sister-in-law Pam did everyone's hair. She did a great job! The dining room was the center of the morning's activities as the girls got glam. Marla's mom, Marianne, did everyone's makeup.

Every bride seems to spend some time on the phone taking care of the last minute details!

The rings ...

Hairspray is supposed to stop you from sweating ... I didn't ask later on if it had actually worked!

Marla's brother, Marshall, walked her down the aisle in full Highland regalia. He looked awesome! The ceremony was held at the Southridge Community Church in Lloydminster and was officiated by Marla's uncle, Blaine.

It was a scorcher, but we had some beautiful blue skies!

Next we headed over to Barr Colony for a few shots with just Mike & Marla

June 26, 2008 - darling Deb

Deb is one of my favorite people in the whole world. I had the pleasure of being the photographer for her daughter's wedding last summer, and I've been pleased to see her numerous times since!

Yesterday, Deb had me out to her farm near Minburn to take some photos for her website. Deb is a talented animal communicator - and a super nice lady all around! I adore her!

You can check out the rest of the photos from Deb's session here.

Thanks for having me out Deb, see you soon!

June 22, 2008 - studio is almost done!

I had some help in putting in the new flooring in the studio this weekend - thanks mom and dad! I'm super happy with it and it looks terrific!

Now I just need to stain the baseboards and the studio will be officially complete!

June 14, 2008 - Carmen & Brody's wedding!

I had a splenderiffic time yesterday with Carmen and Brody, their wedding party and their families yesterday in Mervin and Turtleford, Saskatchewan. Thank you so much for choosing me as your wedding photographer!

I was a little nervous about the weather yesterday. For much of the two hour drive from my place to Carmen's family farm just outside of Mervin, it was pouring rain. But by the time I got to Turtleford, it had stopped raining and the skies started to clear. By the time the ceremony rolled around, it was a beautiful sunny day!

I have to say a special thank you to Larry and Cheryl for feeding me while I hung out with the girls while they got ready. I always appreciate being fed! It was great to see you again, and it was so wonderful to also meet Brody's parents, Neil and Donnell. Donnell made sure I got a seat and some supper at the reception, and Larry pulled me aside and told me all kinds of nice things about myself. You're all awesome!

Bill Beaton of Sundown Sound Systems was spinning some great tunes during the reception. It was great to meet you Bill! Hope I see you again soon!

Trent and Rebecca gave what I think were the BEST TOASTS EVER to the groom and to the bride during the reception. I laughed so hard it brought tears to my eyes, and I know it had a similar effect on everyone else, too! Thanks for the laughs!

June 7, 2008 - graduation day!

I had a super time today with Denis, Caroline, Michael, Garrett and Michael's beautiful grad date, Krista. It was Michael's graduation and I was very pleased to shoot this fantastic family!

Congratulations to you, Michael, and all the other St. Jerome's graduates! I hope you guys had an awesome grad day and a fun party afterwards!

This is my traditional 'leaving the family behind' shot. At least, I'm making it a tradition!

The boys, messing around.

The lovely Caroline, who by no means looks old enough to have a son graduating from high school!

The handsome graduate, Michael

Garrett - can't wait to take your grad photos! Only three years to wait!

Handsome dad, Denis.

This might be one of my favorite shots ever - it looks incredible at a larger size. Don't be surprised if you come into the studio and see this shot blown up on my wall!

The incredibly beautiful Krista - hope I see you again next year for your grad!

June 3, 2008 - one from the farm

It's a beautiful time of year here - the apple trees are loaded with blooms, the lilacs are just starting to open up and everything smells wonderful!

I snapped this the other night as the sun was starting to go down - perfect for sunflare shots!

June 1, 2008 - Vermilion Provincial Park with Raelean, Clint and Nate

I had an awesome time today hanging at at the Vermilion Provincial Park with Raelean and Clint and their adorable one-year-old son, Nate! Nate has a killer set of dimples and already knows how to flirt - look out girls!

Here are just a few of my favorites from their family session, but you can check out the full gallery here.
