Proud to be an Albertan; lucky to live where I do!
I snapped this first shot a couple of weeks ago on my way back from a shoot in Neilburg; living where I do, so close to the Saskatchewan border, I often find myself headed east into Saskatchewan.
I like Saskatchewan. The people are friendly and hospitable, the scenery is gorgeous … but being a born-and-raised Albertan, it makes me unbelievably happy when I head west and I can see this sign!

I’m also extremely blessed to live where I do. Our home, and my studio, is located on my husband’s family farm. He’s the third generation to live here; his dad was born in the old house that still stands across the orchard from our home. It was built in 1928.
Three generations of families living on this same spot means there’s a treasure trove of STUFF for me to play with. Yesterday, I was digging through an old building to get to a cool wooden crate and I unearthed a bunch of other stuff, too. I decided to make a little fall display of some of it …

Other people, other photographers, too, have to go looking for locations and objects that I have just lying around the place. It’s all part of what makes Jennifer Jacula Photography more than just a studio; I like to think of it as a destination. Sure, we’re off the beaten path … but the journey will take you through some of the most beautiful parts of Alberta (regardless of what direction you come from!), and I hope you’ll enjoy the time you spend on the way. The results will be worth it!
