Mervin, Sask. – Melissa & Brennen’s wedding
It was a GORGEOUS day for a wedding! It was overcast for the ceremony, but then the sun came out in full force for the rest of the day. Beautiful!
Country weddings are my favorite, and they don’t come much more country than a wedding on the family farm! The bride and bridesmaids got ready at her parents’ place, an amazing family farm with black angus cattle and various crops. Melissa’s parents, Larry and Cheryl, are super awesome – Cheryl fed us lasagna and garlic bread as soon as we walked in the door. Thanks Cheryl!
This was actually my third Macnab wedding – I shot Melissa’s brother, Brad’s wedding in Lloydminster April ’08 and her sister Carmen’s wedding, also on the farm, in June ’08. I’m a little bit sad that there’s no more Macnab siblings getting married for me to photograph! They are an awesome bunch of people! Both Brad & Wendy and Carmen & Brody have babies now and they are sooooooooooooooo cute!
There are some definite advantages to working with people who know you – Brad knew I’d want the rings for a shot so he made sure to bring them to me before the ceremony. Thanks Brad!

We had some time to do some photos of the girls before the guests started arriving.

Gorgeous flowers!

Even more gorgeous bride!

Now on to the ceremony! This is a shot of the very handsome groom, Brennen, watching Melissa come down the aisle. Love those dimples!

Larry is such a sweet guy and a doting dad. I can only imagine how emotional it is to walk your little girl down the aisle!

During the vows

During prayers

I LOVED these purple dresses!

They had a great first kiss, photographically speaking!

Coming down the aisle as husband and wife.

The receiving line right after the ceremony is always crazy and chaotic and wonderful. Here, Melissa is hugging Brennen’s sister Lyndsey.

We did the family photos and then onto the bridal party and couples photos.

The beautiful ladies!

Gangsta boys. With Pilsner.

14 people in the party makes it a PAR-TAY!

They are so darn adorable!

Melissa and Brennen bought a farm quite recently and this gorgeous coulee borders one side of their land. I’m so jealous!

Had to get a photo with Melissa’s horse, Sage. Sage was grumpy at first, but my equine expertise soon brought those ears up!

Their farm also came with this awesome swing … Brennen gave her an underduck, too!

Melissa is so beautiful, inside and out!

Brennen is pretty darn beautiful, too!

This lovely abandoned house was on our way back to Mervin. An old school-style processing seemed to work for me for this photo.

And this totally pimping car left in the bush was PERFECT for some photos!

Getting steamy!

Veiled smooch

I love love love this bridge!

Coming into the hall for their grand entrance …

Gorgeous cake!

They didn’t get TOO messy …

I loved this shot during the slideshow – Melissa and Brennen both have great families that they’re really involved with. This shot of them sharing their day, surrounded by a few of their nieces & nephews, speaks to me about the kind of people they are! Two of the kindest people you’ll ever meet!

And that’s it for now! Melissa and Brennen, thank you much for choosing me to capture your wedding. It has been such a pleasure to work with you! Have a great time in Jamaica!
