Weddings on the Border 2011 – my tradeshow booth!
This was my booth at the 2011 Weddings on the Border bridal showcase, which I co-organize with the fabulous Kaylie Franklin of Happily Ever After Event Planning & Decor.
This is a 10×10 booth; we transported it all in a Ford Explorer and a Jeep Liberty. I know there are always photographers and other wedding professionals looking for booth inspiration, so I’ve also included where to find everything I used!
The flooring is these awesome foam/rubber mat I found on Amazon.com from We Sell Mats. It made a huge impact in terms of defining the space, and was also nice to walk on! I will definitely keep using this flooring in my tradeshow booths.
The white curtains were from IKEA; the brown fabric behind that I have had for a few years – it was a $0.99/metre discovery back when my local Walmart still carried fabric. The frames on the 20×30 photos (on either side of the large picture) were from Against the Grain; I painted them a semi-gloss white from leftover paint from the studio. The frame on the large 40×60 picture was one I whipped up myself on Wednesday night and painted on Thursday – the wood is from my local Rona hardware store.
Cube shelf is from IKEA; baskets from IKEA; green floodlights from IKEA; wheatgrass I grew myself from some of my husband’s wheat I scavenged from his bin; old license plate was something I dug out from an old building on the farm; the small wood frame on the upper left with the Show Special in it was a cute little piece my parents found for me at our local antique store; the two 16×24 frames on the floor are from Against the Grain.

White cube shelf from IKEA; frame is from my buddy Pete Kirk at Against the Grain. The draw box is just a regular cardboard box, covered in leftover wallpaper from the boudoir room and finished with a burlap-ish ribbon I found in the cheapo bin in Walmart’s craft section. The pens are in an old canning jar that I wrapped in green polka dot ribbon (also from Walmart). The two books are from WHCC; the tiny books are from GraphiStudio.

My burlap roses! I heart these! See the previous blog post for a YouTube video of how to make them. I displayed these in a bigger canning jar, and wrapped the same polka dot ribbon around it.

My little boudoir table! Albums by Finao and TAP. The table itself was a find at Walmart, believe it or not – just $99! Flowers were by my friends at Lakeland Country Florist.

Corner table; wood frames by Against the Grain, and the leather frame was a Walmart find a few years back. More burlap roses, an antique wood box and antique cameras from my studio complete the table.

My sweet candle chandelier! I couldn’t light the candles because the air conditioning would cause them to drip on anything below, but I liked the look anyway.

Album table. Fabric for the tablecloth was found on eBay; I used the same fabric for my chair ties. It’s a subtle damask pattern in tan and rose. The albums are from GraphiStudio or Finao. The table itself I built, although you can’t see it well here. It has a rustic pine top and glossy white legs.

My centerpiece idea using repurposed materials. The “tree” is a branch from a shrub in my yard; the crystals were repurposed from an old chandelier I used to have in my dining room; the container is an antique crock; wheatgrass grown from wheat taken from my husband’s grain bin; carnations from my local preferred flower shop, Lakeland Country Florist. The small photos were printed on FSC-approved stock.

Love banner! This was a super easy project! The triangles are 13″x9″, with an extra 1″ tab on top. I printed off sheets of paper with the letters on them, cut out the letter, and then used the sheet as a stencil. I colored in the letters with a black sharpie. Then I sewed them onto the jute string by folding the 1″ tab over the string and stitching with my sewing machine.

Clothespin gallery! Mini-clothespins were found at Walmart.
