Terri Clark & Slim Thorpe Recovery Centre 2011 Gala
I had the honour of being the official photographer for the Thorpe Recovery Centre’s 2011 Gala in Lloydminster on Thursday. It was an amazing event, with a delicious supper, mocktails and a barista bar, speakers, a huge silent auction and a live auction with auctioneer Danny Hooper, followed by an incredible acoustic concert by one of my favorite country singers, Terri Clark.
Decor for the event was by my friend Kaylie Franklin of Happily Ever After, who also did a lot of the planning and coordinating for the gala. She did a great job!

Two of the Happily Ever After girls, Janelle and Audina.

It was amazing to see the room come together! I helped out for a few hours during set up on Wednesday, and when I arrived on Thursday, the transformation was complete.

Vermilion-Lloydminster MLA Lloyd Snelgrove attended to event with his lovely wife.

Terri Clark! This is the first time she’s done this acoustic show in Canada. She was awesome!

During the encore …

Terri Clark donated a fan package to the silent auction, including a hat, t-shirts, photos and a meet and greet. The lucky winner was Kaitlyn Oddan.

Smiles!

This was my own personal little humor project … in case you think working an event like this is all glamour, almost all the staff and volunteers started the evening in heels. But the high heels began piling up behind the curtains and in corners, and the women got shorter as we ditched our heels in favor of flats. Top left are mine!

I also did a few videos of the evening to share with you all! I hope you enjoy them!
