It was so great to be able to catch up with so many of my clients, and see some new babies!

Kyle and Megan are certainly no exception to the rule. They are among the sweetest, most considerate couples I’ve had the pleasure to photograph. The rest of the world thinks of Saskatchewan as a flat, prairie kind of a place, but to me, it’s the place with the warmest, most genuine, super helpful, friendliest people. Also, in Edam, they’re all really, really good looking. I think it’s something in the water.

I started off the day at Kyle and Megan’s, where the girls were getting ready. I wasn’t technically supposed to be shooting at this point, but I arrived an hour early in Edam, and there’s not much else to do there, so … bonus photography time it is!

The bride has entered the building! Both the ceremony and the reception were held at the Edam Community Centre, which is this AMAZING new facility that contains the hall, a hockey rink, a curling rink, and possibly the coolest playroom ever.

Then I drove home. As soon as I hit the Alberta border, I encountered a HUGE snowstorm and subsequently the balance of the trip, which is usually under an hour from the border, took over two hours. My jaw still hurts from grinding my teeth, my shoulders are still stuck up around my ears from trying to see through the insane white-out conditions, and my right ankle aches from holding my foot OFF the gas pedal. I’m still feeling sorry for myself. Looking at these photos, though? Makes it totally worth it.
